Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages was founded by the sisters of the Roman Union of the Order of St. Ursula in 1966. It was named in honor of Wenzao Lo, the first Chinese Bishop. Wenzao is known for its commitment to excellence in foreign languages teaching and research.
With its motto, “Revere the divine, love the human.” Sharing with that of all Ursuline schools, “Serviam” (I will serve), Wenzao hopes to develop students spiritually as well as to prepare them for success in this highly demanding and competitive world. The University expects all Wenzaorians to acquire competent knowledge and useful skills inspired by Life, Language, and Leadership.
The University has established and maintains pleasant and collaborative relations with 250 universities and institutions from 21 countries in Asia, America, Europe and Australia. Collaboration between Wenzao and the foreign universities and institutions covers various areas such as exchange of students and faculty, study visits, and research teaching collaboration. To enhance the employability of our students, Wenzao offers them career consultations and a digitized course map to help them choose suitable courses for their future careers as well as to develop their abilities , interests and experiences.

Applying for Degree Programs International students are eligible for degree programs in the Day Division that offers master, bachelor and associate degrees. Candidates’ diploma and related qualification certificates should be verified by Taiwan’s overseas representative offices or authorized agencies for admission application.
(1) Graduate Institute Program: Applicants should be graduates of public, private or foreign universities, colleges or equivalent.
(2) Four-Year College Program: Applicants should be graduates of public, private or foreign vocational high school, high school or equivalent.
(3) Two-Year College Program: Applicants should be graduates of public, private or foreign junior colleges or equivalent.
(4)Five-Year Junior College Program: Applicants should be graduates of public, private or foreign junior high schools or equivalent.
I. Undergraduate and Graduate
1. 2 copies of the application form: Please check the following 2 pages for other required documents of the graduate institutes and master’s degree program
2. 2 recent 2-inch photos: Full-face photos are affixed on the application form; the applicant’s name and applied program and department, written at the back of the photos.
3. 1 photocopy of the documentation of academic credentials (English or Chinese) Requirements:
A. The photocopy has to be verified by the Embassy of the Republic of China, representative offices, offices, or other organizations authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (hereby named overseas embassies).
B. If the documentation of academic credentials is in other foreign languages beyond Chinese and English, the Chinese or English translated version should be attached additionally.
C. The applicants who are going to graduate this June may submit the photocopies of their student ID cards or English certificates of current enrollment verified by the overseas embassies first, but the documentation of academic credentials that is verified by overseas embassies should be submitted when they enroll.

4. 1 photocopy of the documentation of official transcript (English or Chinese) Requirements:

A. Officially offered by a bank to support an international student’s study in Taiwan
B. Or a statement offered by a government, institution of higher learning or civic organization providing full scholarship or aid. *Remarks: For Indonesian applicants, please provide the Financial proof of USD 5,000 or the scholarship document from government, institution of higher learning or civic organization when applying for VISA.
6. Other required documents by ALL departments (English or Chinese)
Requirements:
A. English or Chinese autobiography ( 1 typed A4 page) B. English or Chinese study plan ( 1 typed A4 page)
C. One of the English proficiency test records (TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS or BULATS) or one of the Chinese proficiency test records (TOCFL/TOP or HSK), D. Optional: other foreign languages proficiency test records, other related licenses, outstanding performance, and achievement works that are copied
*Remarks: For Vietnamese and Indonesian applicants, please be reminded that the certificate of the TOCFL Chinese proficiency test record (at least Level 2/基礎級 or above) has to be submitted when applying for VISA.
7. legal documents of parents’ consent: For applicants applying for the Junior College Program ONLY:
A. The document of the power of attorney from the student’s parents or other legal representative appointing a legal guardian in Taiwan verified by an overseas agency, which shows the eligibility of the guardian.
B. The notarized letter of agreement from a legal guardian in Taiwan.
