Chung Hwa University of Medical Technology (HWAI), originally known as China Junior College of Medical technology, was established in 1968 in Jen-Te County, Tainan Hsien for the purpose of offering academic opportunities for youths interested in medical care. At the initial stage, there was only one five-year day time program containing three departments for junior high school graduates. The two-year day time program and night time school for senior high school graduates were offered in 1988. In the year of 1999, school was upgraded from a Junior College to a College of Technology.

And in the year of 2007, school was promoted to be a university. We have 13 departments in undergraduate program, some of them include five-year or two-year junior college divisions. In order to create positive impact and influence on students' learning progress, our aim is to emphasize on improving teaching environments, developing teaching quality and promoting area of research.

Also, we expect to cultivate high-end medical professionals through continuous effort. Our Department of Administration includes 3 divisions: Registration, Curriculum and Recruiting. Recruiting office is in charge of all kinds of recruiting tasks for students; Recruiting office is responsible for all registering kinds of routines; and the responsibilities of managing and arranging curriculum-related tasks, such as examinations and teaching evaluation, belong to Curriculum Office. The prosperous growth of Chung Hwa University of Medical Technology has been rapid.

We look forward to the prospect of becoming a renowned university in the near future. Each college and department has its own characteristics, but they all share the same goal of serving for the benefit of the society. During this long period of time, there have been lots of changes and improvements. In the future, we will keep all our best traditions, be more creative and advance to a better circumstance. To reach these goals, we would undoubtedly take advantages of all the possible resources to improve our academic quality as well as the research standard.
